Cmon ntc’s to 4th liners are the new wave. It’s also a great idea for the new expansion draft to have to protect them.

Dumb Question. The answer is obvious. Not one team comes anywhere close to the Isles this offseason.

Canucks signings are not ideal but they are not that bad considering the team is still at least 2 years away from competing for a playoff spot. I think the Islanders have had the worst start to free agency followed by St. Louis who handed out a ton of money and made a terrible trade for Ryan O'Reilly.

Agreed. Even if tavares stayed and we made these moves we would've had the worst offseason league wide. Not even a debate.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned the Pens lol. I think we definitely made the worst signing of the off-season.

Just my opinion. Ottawa is up there as well and may top the Islanders with whatever happens with Karlsson.

Yeah the Isles replaced Tavares, Halak and De Haan with.... uh....

Filpulla, Matt Martin, Tom Kuhnackl, and Robin Lehner?

good christ.

Worst single signing goes to the Penguins... the one optimistic note on Johnson is the fact that he doesn't have a no trade clause.

I couldn't disagree more. That was a fantastic trade for St. Louis. They dumped both Bergland AND Sobotka.

O'Reilly is overpaid but he's still really good.

The JT saga was painful but now that it's over you realize the team has to build some type of winning culture. At least now they have a respected coach backed by his GM.

De Haan was a good D but I'll take a lesser talent capable of playing 70 or more games.

Martin liked playing in NY. Filppula, Komarov, Kuhnackl add the vet presence even if they're numbers are low. Eventually some of the young talent will step up. Goal could be a circus but maybe the coaching will be better.

If you are asking that as a question, the answer is absolutely. If you are saying we should use it as our slogan this year, we prefer Lose for Hughes!

@Rinosaur: While I certainly do not like the Johnson signing, I think the Reaves signing is comparable and the two Canucks signings are worse. We didn't have a good free agency, but we are far from the worst.
